Since its founding, Honegger has been a family-owned business—and that’s how it’s meant to stay. With Marlon Honegger, the fourth generation is now joining the company, bringing youthful energy to a legacy of decades of experience and tradition. Both the company’s history and its vision for the future demonstrate why this is not a contradiction, but an opportunity.
Seventy-eight years ago, there was no sign of the influence the Honegger family would one day have on the Swiss building services industry. In 1948—after World War II—Walter Honegger Sr. began going door to door to offer cleaning services. In the years that followed, thanks to his unwavering entrepreneurial spirit and dedication, he succeeded in establishing Honegger AG as a successful small-to-medium-sized enterprise in the Bern area.
Walter Honegger Sr. passed on his knack for effective and innovative services in this industry to his family. In the years that followed, not only his sons Walter and Ernst, but also his grandsons Daniel and Stefan followed in his footsteps and joined the company. Honegger continued to grow steadily—a trend that continues to this day.
Building services in fourth generation
Marlon Honegger recently joined the company, marking the fourth generation of the Honegger family to do so. A trained engineer, he brings a fresh, technically oriented perspective to the Honegger Group’s board of directors, thereby continuing his great-grandfather’s legacy as Vice Chairman of the Board.

Marlon Honegger’s appointment to the Board of Directors marks a new chapter in the company’s history and, at the same time, strengthens the Group’s long-term development. Since its founding, Honegger has not only grown steadily but has also evolved from a regional cleaning company into a leading provider of comprehensive building services throughout Switzerland. This continuity is also reflected in a clear commitment: the Honegger Group is to remain independent and family-owned. The inclusion of the next generation in the executive board is a deliberate step to secure this independence in the long term.

Digital processes, data-driven services, autonomous cleaning robots, and increasing demands for sustainability are changing both customer expectations and daily workflows.
